Iron Man (2008)
Me and me mate went off to see the the action hero movie Iron Man at a cinema downtown at Crown Casino.
I thought it was a kick-ass movie. Robert Downey Jr., a daring choice for the leading role is really good as Tony Stark, gigolo-rich-guy turned super-hero. I love Downey, Jr., he always steals the scene. Part, because he's good looking, part because he's funny, part because he has big expressing eyes, part because he's bloody charismatic. In sum, if I were a sheila I'd marry him.Not only do we have Downey Jr.'s charm but we also have the intense presence of Jeff Bridges as the bad guy. I've never before seen Bridges play a bad guy and I guess that's one reason why it's so effective, apart from that he is a great actor. Always frigthening to see someone you thought was nice to do horrible things. I'm probably analaysing this film too obsessively. Well, I think it deserves that because its not only a great action movie, but impressively ambitious of getting the most out of the thought-to-be-dead super hero genre. Go see it and let it mesmerize you.
Some other movies I have peeked at lately
The Kite Runner
A decent flick, had some strong emotional moments but I guess the book should be better as I couldn't see what is so great about it. The long kite scene at the beginning was pretty boring. I don't know why but it reminded me of The phantom menace.
The motorcycle Diaries
I really liked this one. Very powerful but enjoyable as well. Two thumbs high in the air.
Then she found me
As already noted this is the mom-movie par excellence. Not too bad.
